Jaswant Thada was built in 1899 by Maharaja Sardar Singh. He made this fort in memory of his father, Maharaja Jaswant Singh II. The Maharaja was one of the most loved rulers of Jodhpur. He has worked for the betterment of the state. He improved irrigation, law, and order, and brought several reforms during his reign.
To honour his father’s contribution, Maharaja Sardar Singh built this fort. One can see the paintings of many Marwar rulers. There is a small gallery of Jodhpur’s royal history.
