Facts about Gurudwara Singh Sabha
- Originally known as Gobind Ghat, the site consecrated by the Guru's stay has since been renamed Gandhi Ghat.
- Gobind Ghat is still inscribed in Gurumukhi, Devanagari, Persian, and Roman scripts on a stone slab beneath a kiosk. There was once a Gurdwara here, on the first floor of the gateway to the Ghat, manned by Nirmala Sikhs, but it is no longer there.
- A Brahman priest with full grown hair and a turban stands at this Ghat, holding a hukamnama written on bhoj patra (leaf or bark of birch tree), which he claims was given to Mahant Chetan Das by Guru Gobind Singh.
- Another hukamnama is found in the names of five Amritsar Gurdwaras, including Sri Akal Takht Sahib. A handwritten copy of the Guru Granth Sahib is also kept by the priest.
