• Stok Palace - Where do the kings of Ladakh live? Answer: Stok Palace. This 3-storey building is a favourite destination of travellers and is situated right on the banks of the Indus river. Stok Palace is open for visitors between 9 am -1 pm and charges Rs.70 as entry fee. There is a lovely cafe inside the palace which serves excellent Ladakhi food to its guests. 

• Thiksay Monastery - This Buddhist temple is 18 kms from Leh and overlooks the Indus river. A Buddhist guru who spread Buddhism in this area built Thiksay nearly 600 years ago.

• Hemis Festival - A two-day event in June/July, this event is celebrated in the Hemis Monastery in Leh. You will love the energy of this festival;don't miss it.

• Gurudwara Pathar Sahib - Don't forget to take blessings in this gurudwara ( home of Guru) in Leh. You will also enjoy hot tea and tasty food in Gurudwara Pathar Sahib.

• Turtuk - Until recently, Turtuk wasn't there in the Leh Ladakh tourism circuit. Now you can easily travel to this pretty town on a motorcycle or with a cab and take beautiful pictures. Turtuk is the northern most twon in Ladakh. 

• Lamayuru - One of the pretties towns in Ladakh, Lamayuru looks like a spot on the moon. There are many craters in and around Lamayuru. According to legends, a lama prayed for the lake to dry upin this area. So intense was his dedication that the lake evaporated and caused the formation of craters. 

• Sumur- Don't forget to drive down to Sumur whuch oversees the Nubra Valley. You will be enchannted with breaktaking views of the mustard fields spread out below. Sumur has a 150-year old gompa which is decorated with beautiful frescoes. 

• Ulley Tokpo - This village is on a ,lower elevation than Leh and hence is warmer. Ulley Tokpo falls on the Srinagar-Leh highway and you can stop here for some rest. It is a great place for acclimatization. 

• Panamic hotsprings - These hot sulpur springs are in the Panamic village, north of Leh and have medicinal properties and can cure arthritis and other diseases.
