Lal Tibba, the highest point in Mussoorie is situated in Landour area, which is the oldest populated place in the destination. Lal Tibba also referred as a Depot Hill owing to the presence of a depot, also houses a camp of the Indian Military services, towers of Doordarshan and All India Radio. A Japanese telescope was placed at the 20 metres tall tower standing on the edge of the cliff to offer scenic views of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Banderpunch, and other Himalayan ranges. Apart from this, tourists can have a glimpse of some old buildings and houses, which are constructed in British architectural style.
