Jaipur

Jal Mahal

Also, a palace in Jaipur, which is situated in the middle of water. It is called Jal Mahal. Four floors of this five-storey palace are underwater, and only one floor is visible above the water. Looking at its structure, it seems as if it is a small island. It is said that King Sawai Jai Singh built the palace in the middle of the lake so that he could take a royal bath in the middle of the lake with his queen and pandits after the Ashwamedha Yagya.

Nahargarh Fort

The fort of Nahargarh, located here, also testifies to history. Situated on a peak of the Aravalli Hills, this fort was specially built so that Jaipur could be protected from attacking enemies. Therefore, it was built at a height of 700 feet, and no one could attack till this height. Many Bollywood movies like Rang de Basanti and Jodha Akbar were also shot here.            

Jaigarh Fort

Another famous fort is the Jaigarh Fort. It was built to protect the Amer Fort from enemy attacks. Built on the Cheel ka Tila hill, this fort is famous for the world’s largest wheeled cannon, Jaibaan, and this fort is connected to the Amer Fort through tunnels, and the Amer Fort is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
