Steps to follow to register on IRCTC to Book IRCTC Train Ticket Booking

Visit the IRCTC website on your web browser.
Click on the Register option and you will be directed to the registration page.
Enter the Username between 3 to 35 characters.
Select the security question and the required answer.
Submit the required details such as name, marital status, gender, occupation, and date of birth.
Enter a valid Email ID, and mobile number, and type your login password.
Enter your postal address and pin code.
Enter the captcha text as shown in the image and click on the Submit button.
Verify your account by entering the code sent on your mobile number or email address.

Steps to Book IRCTC Train Ticket Booking

Step 1

Open the browser and visit the IRCTC website.

Step 2

You will need to register and create your login ID if you are new to IRCTC. Registration on IRCTC is free. If you have already registered on the IRCTC website then log in to your account.

Enter the name of passengers traveling, their age, gender, and berth preference, for each passenger traveling on the train.

Enter the names of passengers in just 16 characters. In the case of senior citizens (60 for males and 58 for females) select the concession available from the drop-down menu.

After confirming information, click on ‘Continue’ button. You can also click on the ‘Back’ button to change the train, journey class, quota, and other details.

The ticket fare and availability of berths can be seen on the screen.

Click on ‘Continue’ for the payment process to begin booking the ticket. You can pay by Net Banking, Wallets, Credit Cards, and other payment services.

Step 18

Select the payment option from the available payment gateway option menu. Click on ‘Pay and Book’ and you will be redirected to your bank website.

A ticket confirmation page will appear after successful payment and booking of the railway ticket.

Things to consider before you Book IRCTC Train Ticket Booking

You need to register on the IRCTC ticket booking portal and create your account.
You cannot book tickets for more than six people in a month.
You can book train tickets using IRCTC up to four months in advance.
The ticket fare does not include reservation charges and GST. A ‘Superfast’ charge and a ‘Catering charge’ may be charged, and they may be optional according to trains.
You cannot book a ticket through IRCTC from 11:45 pm to 12:20 am the next day.
