1.    Antharangange

Antharangange is a popular destination not only for trekkers but also for pilgrims. This place is located about 70 km away from Bangalore. This place is a haven for enthusiasts who like to trek, explore caves and do rock climbing. Adventure lovers enjoy trekking here mainly because of the presence of caves and the rocky terrain. Nature lovers trek to the top of the hill to view the caves.  Pilgrims visit the place as there is a temple located in the middle of the dense forest. The old temple and a perennial spring are the hotspots for pilgrims, who savor religious sentiments. 2.    Mullayanagiri

Mullayanagiri which is located about 20 kms away from Chikmagalur is the highest peak in Karnataka with an altitude of 1950m and is a range on the Western Ghats.  For a trekking enthusiast, Mullayanagiri offers a lot of activities including trekking and mountain biking. There is a Shiva temple located at the top of the range and this place gets the name from the deity in the temple.  The environment is peaceful with lush greenery and rocky terrain and what's more - a great trekking path makes it a preferred choice among the trekkers!! 3.    Kudremukh

Kudremeh is one of the highest peaks in the Western Ghats situated at an altitude of 1894 m above sea level in Chikmagalur in Karnataka. It is indeed a delight for adventure lovers to trek here, as it is rich in flora and fauna.  You can witness cascading waterfalls, breathtaking views of valleys, and also you can experience the aroma emanating from the coffee plantations. Mullodi is a small village from where the actual trek begins.  The peak is situated in Kudremukh National Park, which is home to many species of the animal and plant kingdom. The landscape is fantastically dotted with gushing streams, extensive valleys, lush green grasslands, rolling hills, and dense forests. You can reach Kudremukh by road from Bangalore halting at Kalasa and then taking an onward journey to Balegal to finally reach Mullodi.

4.    Skandagiri

Skandagiri is also known as the Kalavara Durga hill is located about 60 kms from Bangalore. Surrounded by the Nandi hills, Skandagiri is situated at 1450 m above sea level.  Here what is unique is that the adventure lovers can venture out not just during the day, but even at night and explore the hills!! Also, the sunrise is a specialty at this spot normally enjoyed by tourists who throng this place. As a routine, trekkers before starting their trek, visit the Papagni Mutt, a temple with Goddess Parvati as the deity. There is a Shiva temple on top of the hill, which is visited by many trekkers on reaching the summit.  While trailing to the top of the hill, you will find a ruined fort mostly frequented by trekkers. 5.    Shivagange

Shivagange is a wonderful place to trek, which has many temples and is situated at about 60 kms from Bangalore. As it has many temples, it is also known as Dakshina Kashi. Shivagange is a trekker’s paradise as it challenges you with rocky terrain and will surely be a thrilling and difficult trek! You can take breaks and get refreshed with a drink at the stalls on your way up the hill. There are man-made steps all along the trail and safety railings to protect you as the trail becomes very steep and narrow near the summit. There is a temple at the top of the hill and what more – you will witness a breathtaking view from the top of the hill, which will make the trek truly worthwhile!!   

6.    Ramanagaram

Ramanagaram is also known as the Silk City is a major attraction for adventure lovers, trekkers, and rock climbers. It is situated at about 50 kms away from Bangalore. It is noteworthy to mention that this was a place where the famous Bollywood Film Sholay was shot in 1975 in the surrounding hills called Ramagiri hills also popularly known as the Sholay hills. The place is home to a few endangered birds. You can trek here both during the day and at night. It is an ideal weekend getaway for Bangalore folks who are enthusiastic about trekking, bird watching, and rock climbing.

7.    Tadiandamol

Tadiandamol is one of the highest peaks in Karnataka. Located on the border of Karnataka and Kerala, it is 1748 meters above sea level. It is the highest mountain in Madikeri in Kodagu. The trek normally begins at Nalaknad Palace all the way up to the Tadiandmol Peak. This is the most popular trekking route in Coorg and trailing up the hill can leave you mesmerized by the sheer beauty of the place. You will witness coffee and tea plantations on the way up the hill. On reaching the top of the hill, you will see clouds floating, which look like cotton balls, and also the dreamy blue skies.  Tadiandamol is located closer to Madikeri at about 43 kms and about 260 kms away from Bangalore.

8.    Savandurga

Savandurga hill is considered to be one of the largest single rock formations in Asia. It is around 60 kms away from Bangalore. There are two hills namely the Billiguda (white hill) and Karigudda (black hill). It has a temple at the foothills and a beautiful lotus pond nearby. It is situated at about 1226 m above sea level. Bheemeshwari is widely known to promote ecotourism. While trailing up the hills, you can witness a variety of birds, deer, jackals, leopards, and rich flora and fauna. 10. Kemmanagundi

Z-point located 5 kms away from Kemmanagundi is a wonderful trekking spot. The trekking trail is about 3 kms starting from Raj Bhavan and leading to Z-point. On your trail, you will traverse through waterfalls, deep gorges, steep hills, and breathtaking valleys. You can also enjoy the sunrise and sunset on top of the hill. You will get a picturesque view of the Western Ghats and Kemmangundi.
