Lake Pichola Udaipur

True to its name, Udaipur, the City of Lakes, is encircled by numerous lakes, enticing tourists with their azure seas and picturesque surroundings. Lake Pichola, which was constructed in the year 1362 AD, is one such manmade lake that is located directly in the center of Udaipur city.

One of the most well-known tourist destinations in Udaipur is Lake Pichola, which was given its name after the neighboring village of Picholi. With islands, houses, shrines, castles, ghats, and eateries surrounding it, Lake Pichola has something to offer everyone. Anyone viewing the lake should not skip the breathtaking views of the sunrise and dusk from the lake.
Lake Pichola has four major islands: Jag Niwas, Jag Mandir, Mohan Mandir, and Arsi Vilas. It measures 3 miles long, 2 miles wide, and is 30 feet deep.
The renowned Lake Garden Palace is located in Jag Mandir, while Lake Palace, formerly of Jag Niwas, is now a historic hotel. The king used to watch the annual Gangaur holiday festivities from Mohan Mandir.
Arsi Vilas, formerly a storage area for ammunition, now has a tiny, lovely castle that was constructed by one of the Maharanas of Udaipur to unwind while taking in the lake's dusk. Here is also a wildlife refuge that is home to a variety of birds, including tufted ducks, cormorants, coots, egrets, terns, and kingfishers.
