Tri means three and veni means confluence. Hence Triveni means confluence of the three. This place is believed to be the confluence of the Ganges, the Yamuna and legendry Saraswati river. Triveni Ghat holds a spritual value and is considered a great place for pilgrimage.
 
Triveni Ghat is a scared Ghat and bathing spot on the right bank of river Ganges, where devotees take a holy dip and offer their heartful prayers.
 
The arti ceremony at Trivani Ghat takes place daily at dusk. An Awe-inspiring sight, when flame of belief illuminates the entire environment and the mind and body rejuvenated by the hymns recited in praise of the Ganges. Devotees release flower-filled leaf boats carrying tiny oil lamps and let them float out on the river, which is the ceremony of worship, rememberance and hope.
 

Triveni ghat is one of the largest and most sacred ghat located in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand. It is situated on the banks of river Ganges. The word ‘Triveni’ means confluence of three. Thus, Triveni ghat is a confluence of three rivers- Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati. It is known for the famous Ganga Aarti which is held everyday in the honour of river Ganga. Triveni Ghat is the holiest spot in Rishikesh and is surrounded by the auspicious vibes and aura. People specially come to attend this Aarti with full devotion and enthusiasm.

According to the Hindu Mythology, Lord Krishna visited Triveni Ghat when he was hit by an arrow. It is also said that Lord Krishna was cremated here.

  • Laxman Jhula - It is the famous hanging iron bridge spot in Rishikesh. It is said that Lord Laxman, brother of Lord Rama, crossed the Ganga river on a jute rope. Later, the rope bridge was turned into iron bridge in honour of Lord Laxman. Tourists love to walk on the bridge and experience the scenic beauty of the city.
  • Tera Manzil Mandir - It is one of the most well-known temples in Rishikesh. The temple has 13 storeys and beautiful architecture. The temple is dedicated to all Hindu Gods.
  • The Beatles Ashram - The ashram got famous when the renowned Beatles group visited the place. The Beatles meditated and spent the time by writing several songs here.
  • Rishi Kund- Also called as ‘Pond of Rishis’, the rishis used to meditate here. It is said that while meditating, one Rishi was blessed by Goddess Yamuna. She filled the pond with water. The pond also reflects the shrine of Raghunath Temple. Rishi Kund is very calm place where one can relax, meditate and enjoy the serenity.
