In the battle Indian soldiers were faced with several Hunter fighter aircraft and 40-45 tanks with 2000-3000 Pakistani soldiers. The 23rd Battalion of the Indian Army, commanded by Major Kuldeep Singh Chandpuri, bravely held back the Pakistani troops. Whose bravery is still remembered with pride across the country.
