The statue of Ganga Maa is made of marble. Next to him is a four feet tall statue of King Bhagirath, who is saluting Mother Ganga. The idol of Ganga Maa was made by a Muslim sculptor. The building of Ganga Maa Mandir is two-storied. There are wonderful carvings on the walls. • Stones were brought from Banshi Paharpur in Bharatpur district for the construction of this Badami colored temple. In terms of architecture, a combination of Mughal, Rajput and South Indian styles is seen in this temple. The temple is spread over an area of about one and a half acres. The special thing about the temple is that there is always a direct view from a window of the palace.
Gangajal is distributed as Prasad to the devotees who come here for darshan. The temple has two entrances. One entrance has Lord Krishna while the other entrance has the idols of Shiva-Parvati and Lakshmi-Narayan. Devotees from far and wide come here to seek the blessings of Mother Ganga.
The temple opens at 5 am and closes at 12 noon. Then it remains open from 5 pm to 10 pm. Ganga Saptami and Ganga Dussehra are the famous festivals of this temple. At that time a crowd of devotees throngs here.
