Dholpur Palace is the most luxury hotel in Rajasthan. It has a glimpse of Rajasthani and European architecture. This palace was built in 1876 AD during the arrival of Albert Edward during the British Raj. It was under the control of the British from 1779 till independence.

This palace is a beautiful specimen of European and Indian architecture. In a recent controversy, it has emerged that several documents of the Revenue Department between 1954 and 2010 show that the palace is the property of the government. But Raje and Lalit Modi's company Niyant Heritage Hotels converted it into a luxury hotel. During this, Rs 100 crore was invested in it.
The Jaipur royal family members were involved in a protracted legal dispute over the family's property holdings for nearly 30 long years. A well-known Congress Party official named Jairam Ramesh declared on prime-time television in 2015 that "the Dholpur City Palace is a property of the state that has been usurped illegally He also asserted that CM Raje and her son Dushyant bought the property with the assistance of former Indian Premier League (IPL) owner Lalit Kumar Modi and converted it into an opulent heritage hotel in order to profit unlawfully. Due to an insufficient record, Jairam Ramesh was unable to prove his case against the Jaipur royal family.

It is an unusual experience to walk through the hallways made of red sandstone. Spending an hour here is a great way to appreciate Bharatpur. The Dholpur Palace is especially beautiful in the evening because the setting sun gives the building a mystical aura.
